Point Pinole Hike for January, 2004
With great views of Mt. Tamalpais, San Francisco Bay shoreline and an interesting waterbird population, Point Pinole is a great place to sketch or paint.  We began our tour by sketching the imposing Mt. Tamalpais from the first stretch of shore-line you come to from the park trailhead entrance.  Later we ended up walking north toward the pier and sketched a volcanic looking (but not in fact) Mt. Tamalpais in what appeared to be a tropical setting.  We were also greeted at the pier by a flock of oystercatchers.  This is one sketch hike or birder  location definately worth re-visiting.
